Mentorship

2 comments:

  1. I think that I have definitely benefitted from having a professional mentoring relationship with my mentor teacher.I have learned so much from being in three different classrooms and getting to know three different teachers during my time at Mylan Park so far. I have been able to see strategies I liked and didn't like, and all of my mentor teachers have been helpful in answering my questions and slowly shaping me into a "real" teacher. When I first get to the school in the morning, it is before the students get there so my mentor teacher and I have an opportunity to talk about past lessons, future lessons, and anything new that has been going on with the students. This time we spend communicating is very valuable and gives me ideas to reflect upon so that my teaching will be even better in the future.

  2. I think noticing things that you like and dislike are very important to developing your teaching philosophy. Seeing positive things will help will give you new ideas. Seeing things you do not like will give you ideas for improvements.
