Action Research Wondering

3 comments:

  1. For my personal wondering, I am choosing to study what motivates students. I am interested in all aspects of motivation...whether it is extrinsic rewards or more personal goals. In my time at my PDS, I have noticed that the majority of the students in my class are well-behaved and seem to be doing their work (at least while I am there!) I look at them and wonder what their motivation is to stay on the right track. On the other end, I look at students who don't seem to care as much about school and wonder what would motivate them to succeed. I picked this topic because, besides being interesting to me, I know I can use the information I find someday in my own classroom.

  2. I think you have picked a great wondering! Motivating students can be a difficult task and each group may be different. However, once you find an effective technique it is important to stick with it and be consistent. Have you talked to your teacher about their classroom rules and motivation techniques? This motivation may also be school wide; it would be beneficial to become familiar with this if you aren’t at this point! Great post and thank you again for adding me to your blog!

  3. That's a really good wondering. Motivation, I feel, is very subjective. It really depends on the student, and it will be interesting to see what your findings say as far as intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. I think this is definately useful in your future classroom as well as very interesting.
